People put the LS7 in these things (Thats a 427, 7.0L). Then they supercharge, or turbocharge them.

  3. monkeyturds on 12 Oct 2009 at 9:49 am #

a 7.0L engine – OMG I would get killed or kill someone lol – good luck trying to catch me coppers!

my dad owns a coupe, he had to fly three states away to get it, and as it turned out, the dealer he bought it from closed less than a month after he bought it. it turns a lot of heads and FLIES. I can’t even imagine how fast the gxp must be

shame on gm for cutting pontiac. they should have cut buick. i own a 99 trans am and i was really hoping to see the new 2010 trans ams. what a shame…

  14. 666cemetaryslut on 24 Jun 2010 at 2:44 am #

@heavymetal6893 Pontiacs were the same as chevys, Buicks are different. They didnt need 2 of the same car.

  15. heavymetal6893 on 24 Jun 2010 at 3:48 am #

@666cemetaryslut pontiac brought more profit than buick. and a shitload of people also think that it was stupid to cut pontiac.

  16. 666cemetaryslut on 27 Jun 2010 at 8:04 am #

@heavymetal6893 You don’t get it dude, they are the same thing as chevy except for badges and some body panels. They didnt need to be selling the same exact car with a different badge..

  17. heavymetal6893 on 04 Jul 2010 at 2:40 am #

    @666cemetaryslut pontiac was faster…

    R.I.P. Pontiac :(
The Opel GT is the same car with a different body here in Germany (which, I think, looks a little better).
Pontiac were such great and pretty cars, it’s sad. I hope they’ll come back :/

I bought my wife a Solstice GXP for Christmas in 2008. Let me tell you boys and girls .. It may not have the top end of a Ferrari or Vette, but talk about quick! No Lie … I could probably turn 30 -45 degrees @ 60 mph with no problem. Last week we took her through the twisted mountain roads of North Carolina … 60-70 all the way, stable ride, goes where you point it, no over correction needed, as long as long as you STAY FOCUSED! Not a grocery car, just a toy, but sooooooo much FUN!

I llove my Hummer H3 and my Solstice GXP …. But nothing compairs to my first California Hot Rod …. A 1966 GTO overbored to 400 cu in, running a BIG Carter AFB, Crager Wheels … The Whole deal … Had her when I was stationed @ George AFB in Victorville CA in 1972. She was the 2nd fastest on the base … my bud’s ElCamino w/ High Performance 396 Big Block and a Tunnel Ram out the hood was faster! God …. What Memories for 60 year old car fool!

Buick is doing infinitely better in China than in the US which is why they didn’t kill the brand.

With the new Camaro, we might end up seeing a Trans Am package offered by an aftermarket company like the “Plymouth ‘Cudas” which are based on the new Challenger. Anything is possible.

  22. andylie on 26 Aug 2010 at 6:53 am #

@shototsu If im not mistaken, Pontiac Solstice, Saturn Sky nnd Opel GT is a same body model, same chassis, with different label brand on the car. while Pontiac Solstice having a different body style than Opel GT and Saturn Sky
I agree with you that Opel GT and Saturn Sky looks better, but i hope they have the hard top one :D

  23. heavymetal6893 on 26 Aug 2010 at 10:51 am #

@moparmonster1965 yea you can get a fiberglass 2010 trans am body from vfn fiberglass. but the thing is that trans ams came stock with more power.

  24. shototsu on 26 Aug 2010 at 2:08 pm #

@andylie Hi! You’re right! Unfortunately there is no hard top for the Opel GT and Saturn Sky :-/
That was one of some other important reasons why I didn’t buy the Opel GT.
The main reason was that it is simply too small for tall people like me (1,90m).

Well, a Pontiac Firebird in good condition is also a lot of fun (see my video) :-)

You’ve missed the big picture; it’s all about the numbers sold. The Yugo would still be around if it sold like hotcakes, no matter how shitty the build quality.
